Japanese Festival: Wonderful Gion Matsuri Experience and Kyoto Adventures

Kyoto Gion Matsuri Float. There are many Japanese men attending the float. The float is red and is decorated with tapestries. At the front two men are standing in yukata and using a fan. In the top there is group playing music.

The Beautiful Cherry Blossom Festivals in Hokkaido Japan Are Actually Back!

30th June Part 2 - Nara After the goldfish museum 30th June Part 2 - Nara After the goldfish museum, we headed to Kasuga Taisha, a beautiful shrine famous for its lanterns. Whilst there we were lucky enough to see an event, though I’m not sure what it is called. To finish off the afternoon, we enjoyed feeding the deer and a great view from the top of the green park on the hill! 28th June - Travel to Wakayama On this day, it wa 28th June - Travel to Wakayama On this day, it was primarily a travel day from Tokyo to Wakayama to visit my host family! There was heavy rain and my Shinkansen was actually delayed by an hour, but thankfully the delays resolved a lot more quickly than I expected! But I surprised myself by really enjoying them! The intricate details and adorning of each temple and shrine here really is next to none, and to really appreciate it, it’s well worth seeing in person! 27th June Part 2 - Day Trip to Nikko I was really 27th June Part 2 - Day Trip to Nikko I was really enjoying the Lake Chuzenji area, so initially I was undecided whether I would go to see the World Heritage Shrines and Temples or not. This year the water level in Lake Chuzenji is lower than usual, so you can’t access all the usual sights. Based on this, I decided to see the shrines and temples. At this point I’ve seen many of these over the years, so I wasn’t expecting to enjoy these are much as I did! I visited the Taiyuin Temple, Futarasan Shrine, Toshogu and Rinnoji Temple. I can see why this area of Nikko was chosen for such important temples, there is a peaceful atmosphere which feels very connected to the surrounding nature and the architecture and decoration is astounding! #nikko #nikkodaytrip #japan #visitjapanjp #taiyuintemple #futarasanshrine #toshogu #rinnojitemple #japandaytrip #tochigi #日光
Day 3 27th June - A Day Trip to Nikko My must see Day 3 27th June - A Day Trip to Nikko My must see for Nikko was Kegon Falls, so after riding the Spacia X limited express, I jumped on a bus straight to the lake Chuzenjj area. As the bus wound up the mountain, the views opened up and the sharp turns were exciting! I’d heard recent reports say that Kegon Falls had such little water recently, so I was happy to see a stream of water falling down the rock face still!
